Bird & Pollinator Garden Installation in East Falls, Philadelphia

Project Overview

Keystone Permaculture transformed this small side yard in East Falls, Philadelphia, into a diverse native garden designed to support birds, butterflies, bees, and other beneficial wildlife.

This homeowner was looking to transform their underused lawn that lacked ecological value into a garden that provided food, shelter, and habitat throughout the year. Though the space to work with was limited, Keystone Permaculture created an attractive and welcoming native garden that birds and pollinators thoroughly enjoy.

Bird Garden Installation in East Falls, Philadelphia

The Challenge

Before the native garden installation Keystone Permaculture performed, the lawn did not support birds or pollinators. The space mainly consisted of patches of grass.

The main goal of this garden was to create a beautiful space that supported birds and pollinators. However, there was a lack of habitat for these species in this lawn due to its low ecological value.

The size of the lawn posed obstacles that we had to navigate. Keystone needed to create an attractive garden, provide multiple types of habitat, and make it easy to move through, all in a very limited amount of space.
