We are a young company with a passion for restoring the environment and helping our customers become more self sufficient. We have years of design and landscaping experience. We are fighting back against deforestation, habitat loss, and our wasteful food systems. Together we can make a difference that will branch out much farther than our little pocket of the world.

Trails in Tall Grass

Our Story

Founded in 2023 by Joshua Ferguson, a Bucks County PA native. Spending most of his childhood outdoors and camping, a lifelong love for plants and animals was instilled in him at a young age. He was also quite artistic, always drawing and making things. Josh has been designing professionally for over a decade on a progressive path. It started with Architecture, which is traditionally what our public school system will shoehorn creative design thinking people into. Being the ambitious type he is, he began his career as soon as possible. While working at an Architecture firm as a draftsman, Josh acquired the skills that allow him to make our detailed and thorough site plans. During his pursuit of Architecture Josh was always learning how to make things for himself. He was always crafty and had a knack for picking up the skills for building/crafting with his hands. One time when he was teaching himself how to make a backpack he discovered the discipline of Industrial Design. In the following weeks he became obsessed with learning about Industrial Design. Shortly after, he realized that it was a better fit for him than Architecture. Josh graduated from Philadelphia University with a bachelors degree in Industrial Design and began working at a Design consultancy in the city. At a consultancy you get your hands on a variety of different products from many different industries all with their own individual and specific needs. To be successful in that field you need to be versatile, adaptable, and have the skills to deliver high quality designs to your various clients. During this time, Josh refined his design skills and worked on many interesting projects. This is the time that he also realized that he was not actively making the world a better place, but instead making even more plastic products to fuel our consumerism addiction and fill our landfills. He began working at a new company as a Design Engineer designing children's safety products. This was arguably much more worthwhile and fulfilling knowing that his work was making children safer. All the while he longed to be outside fighting back against what he saw as a dire issue. So he began his journey into Permaculture and started working as a Permaculture Designer and Landscaper in New Jersey on nights and weekends. Two years later he started his own company, Keystone Permaculture llc to start improving the environment of the southeastern portion of Pennsylvania.

Our Process

Step 1

Schedule a consultation. No matter what service you want, it all starts with a consultation. This helps us understand your goals for the project, the variables that will drive our design, and how we can best serve you!

Step 2

Next, we send you a design and proposal. If it is to your liking, then we order the plants/materials and schedule an installation date that works with your schedule!

Step 3

Last but not least, we arrive and do what we do best. Prepare the site, plant the site per the design, water the plants in, mulch the area around them, clean up, add finishing touches, and confirm that it is to your liking. Now all you have to do is sit back and watch your garden thrive!
